Initial Comment:
I often paste emails into the "authoremailstring" field on the Author pane. I've found that TreeBASE doesn't parse out whitespace characters (spaces) before it tries to validate emails, consequently causing the checks to fail. This isn't readily apparent (especially if the whitespace is at the end of the string) and can lead to confusion.
