I think posting to the mailing list is a pretty good approach, certainly better than having individual people sign off on it in a way that is not discussed and logged in a public forum. It would be good to allow enough time for responses to come in though, at least from Harry, Bill and I in addition to whoever else is actively contributing at any time.
