The OAI-PMH standard uses the terminology "service provider" to mean "entity who harvests data and provides a useful service". The digital library community essentially rejected this terminology in favor of "harvester", but the standards documents have never been changed. To reduce confusion, we should use "harvester". -- Ryan On Oct 13, 2009, at 5:38 PM, Hilmar Lapp wrote: > > On Oct 13, 2009, at 9:14 AM, youjun guo wrote: > >> Thanks hilmar, It will be renamed to oai-pmh_data_provider, tell >> from oai-pmh service provider. > > I'm a fan of descriptive names, but what is the difference again > between the oai-pmh service provider and the oai-pmh data provider? > > I thought we only have an oai-pmh provider and an oai-pmh harvester? > > -hilmar > > -- > =========================================================== > : Hilmar Lapp -:- Durham, NC -:- hlapp at duke dot edu : > =========================================================== > > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Come build with us!
