I think Youjun had noticed some dependencies (e.g. Mesquite code) on  
SDSC's Maven but not on sourceforge. He also identified some  
advantages of Maven and thought it would be worth having Maven moved  
to NESCent.  Youjun: do you want to make a case for these advantages?
