Same issue here - this first failed as of 2.42 - I thought 2.42.1 was going to help, since part of the changelog for 2.42.1 was: "Improved backward compatibility with certain plugins."

@ Michel Meyers: thank you. Indeed KeeTrayPOTP seems to work OK (installed the latest version = V0.98-Beta of 2019-05-05).
How to find the download (the KeePass Plugins page does not give a 'download' link). On the page (https://github.com/victor-rds/KeeTrayTOTP): in the horizontal bar below 'Fork of the Tray TOTP Plugin for KeePass2', click on 'releases'. Then select the release you want (the 9 current versions are all named 'beta'). In the bottom of that release, expand 'Assets' (the same happens when clicking the header). Then you see the file to download ('KeeTrayTOTP.plgx').
Maybe someone can add some help info like this to the KeePass Plugins page and to the KeeTrayTOTP page?
