I'd like to appreciate the release of transKode 0.7, however I can't. The reason is that it doesn't work on my system and so it does (not) on many other system running Debian or derivates.
The Debian policy makes the use of utempter more or less obsolete and the Debian devs consider utempter a lousy hack and therefore won't include it into Debian. Unfortunately Ubuntu and many other distros are based on Debian and at least Ubuntu won't include utempter, either.
So could you possibly make a Debian-friendly version of your great Amarok script refraining from using utempter?
Thanks in advance
