Some valid ext2 partitions aren't recognized, and
therefore not mounted.

Try the file command on them (e.g. file -sL /dev/hda?).
Some entries which are realy ext2 filesystems may yield
other than "ext2 filesystem", for example: "x86 boot
sector". Thi happens if you install a bootloader (grub,
lilo...) onto a partition(/dev/hda*) instead of the MBR
(/dev/dha)

This may be considered a bug in the "file" magic.

This will be solved in transitmount v0.6.
