Well I got PunyVid working (had to fix a crap load of permission errors) but in a kind of sad way it doesn't seem to support AAC as the audio format for videos. I actually found this quite hilarious. But then again I am a pathetic person for spending so much time to get it to work. *kicks self*

Arr If your running osx (which you should be) Launch Terminal and paste this in (without the quotes)
"svn co https://transcoderredux.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/transcoderredux transcoderredux "
This should have everything you need and it should work fine, as that is what I did and I am proudly running PunyVid on my mac (well maybe not so proudly but eh it works!)

Philip: Thanks, but I'm one of the devs, I know about the SVN. the build I was talking about was the ffmpeg build for the binary -inside- punyvid. I couldn't get the svn revision that is mentioned in the readme file to compile, so I just used the same binary Tyler was. Aparrantly, it isn't good enough, and I'll have to try to compile it again.

Did you use the included binaries in the source?
Arr - did you install FAAC, FAAD and x264 before you compiled the ffmpeg?
Well, FINALLY! I got punyvid to work
I used the included binaries.
hmm well just got a SVN checkout of the project (instead of the tar) and the issue seems to be resolved. so maybe the tar is corrupting something.
I couldn't get the build Tyler mentioned to compile; kept getting errors, so I just pulled the build out of the isquint package.
