If you wish to become a developer on this project you should first submit a patch or an improvement to the code base to one of the current developers to review - this is really just a formality but one I feel is needed.

It seemed from looking at the project description and the SVN repository that all source is in AppleScript. Are you looking for future development to stay strictly AppleScript, or are you open to incorporating broader Cocoa code?

If it works and works well I'll happily include it, but it should be readable - this means plenty of comments to say what's happening as most of us don't have any cocoa experience.

Is dfunct actually a person who is the current admin of the project? If so, it's an unfortunate name. I assumed it meant that this project is now "defunct"!
Maybe it would help if we could get a website up and running rather than a placeholder? I'm not great at web design, but I can help get a site up and running if someone can do the content. We should also get the wiki up and running.
I'm also a developer and I'd like to help. I will see what change I can make and submit a patch. It's too bad that neither of the two existing projects has the full capability of Visual Hub. PunyVid is stripped down, but seems to actually start a transcode. It doesn't look like Filmredux works at all, but is prettier.

Just so you know, I am planning to try and get this working this semester. This is my last semester of college, and I could possibly be really busy, but I thought I could use a fun project like this. I'm going to be looking around over the next days at what needs to be done to make the program start doing what it needs to do.

Well since I'm in high school, I can only work during summer. Which is now. I can't really find anything to change but just say the word and I'll work. I also see that Tyler is a member of the project! Now that is funny.

I've just discovered this app, and am currently checking out the source from SVN to take a look. I've been working with media transcoding since 2001, coding since 03, and coding for Mac since 07. I've been working on my own x264 GUI in hopes of righting all the wrongs Handbrake has wrought on Mac video transcoding, but if our aims and code are similar enough, I would gladly join TranscoderRedux. I'll send you a SF email after I have some time to look through the code and see what this project is all about.
