Since I am not crazy about the Name TranscoderRedux, I've started a new SF project. But since I didn't receive any response to my name suggestions, I've made the executive decision to call it "Video Monkey" (https://sourceforge.net/projects/videomonkey/). It is still pending, but as soon as it lands, I will populate the svn repo and start some discussions about where I'd like to take the very cool Visual Hub.
Note that this isn't an attempt to hijack the project. I just haven't seen any response to any of my posts and I want to make sure this project keeps moving forward. I invite everyone to participate. In particular, I would love it if "thedov" could make an icon for the project, integrating some elements of the original Visual Hub icon with a monkey!

To be totally honest with you that sounds exactly what your trying to do... but anyway the reason the project hasn't seen that much motion in the forwards direction is because firstly the current developers all have other commitments that will, at least in my case, take precedence over this project and as I'm currently struggling to keep up with my uni work you'll see much less input to this project from me. Things will start moving forward at some point but that point will be when we get some more developers on the team that have a bit of drive and quite honestly some free time - I can understand your dislike for the name (something I don't share with you) but its only a name - if The Gimp can become as popular as it is called The Gimp then who are we really to judge?
If you are serious about wanting this project to move forward, write a patch or an improvement to the code base and then submit it for review either by email or using the patch system then we can move on from there.

Sorry you feel that way. I'm a little surprised at your response, but I appreciate you stating how you feel. What I really wanted to do was to start with a base I could get excited about. For me that means starting with a good name.
I certainly would not have taken this approach if there had been any significant work on the code base. As it is, 4 of the 10 commits are the original dump, and the other 6 make small changes to that. And these were all done 3 weeks ago. So it didn't really feel like the project had gotten started. And from what you say, you won't have a lot of time to devote to it, which gives me even more incentive to make a project of my own.
So it looks like it would be better if I started from scratch rather than starting with Tyler's code. It will be harder, but I don't want to step on any toes. I will still leverage the same underlying tools as Tyler's app.
Sorry for stomping on your party. Any offense was unintentional.

That wasn't the point I was trying to make - the code is open-sourced so your more than welcome to fork it, but I can't understand why you'd want to fork the project just because you don't like the name - personally I'd love it if you where to come on board as a developer because to me the source is the thing to get excited about not the name but if you want to fork it then there is nothing stopping you.
