I know I've bitched about this before but...
When you transcode a Stereo stream in Mono you get
the "chipmunk" effect. I've run into the same problem
with the oddsock DSP also, so now I'm sure I can blame
it on the lame encoder, but I don't really know what to
think! If it is a LAME problem, they don't seem to know
about it, I've tried all of their versions with both stream
transcoder and the DSP and I can't fix it. You don't want
to know what a pain in the ass it is to get around it!

I'd really love for the stream transcoder to work because
I help run a station that can barely broadcast their own
64k stream, but want to run a 24k modem stream also.

BTW, for the problem with stream transcoder, here are
the details:

Source:
SHOUTcast Server
64kbps, 22050khz, Stereo

Destination:
SHOUTcast Server
24kbps, 22050khz, Mono

Result: CHIPMUNKS! (and the winamp window shows
the format as being 128kbps 44100khz, Stereo, what
the hell?)
