Is it possible to input unicode characters with
transcriber ? I tryied to write chinese characters
with IPA characters using Arial Unicode MS font, but
each time I saved the file, the unicode characters
appeared as question marks.
On Ubuntu, I tried to change my keyboard layout. Some layouts works fine such as Arabic Layouts.
I guess it is only a font problem, since the XML file contains the good characters.
I also changed the encoding to UTF-8 in the Options (General > Options)

I had a similar issue using Japanese with 1.5.1.1-10 in Ubuntu. It is possible to save in Japanese, but the character encoding has to be changed to UTF-8 every time a file is opened, otherwise transcriber defaults back to a Western font and the Japanese characters are lost. This can result in a significant loss of data if a person isn't careful. Would it be possible for transcriber to probe the character encoding settings of a file it's opening to ensure it retains the correct settings?
