I was just trying to get tpm modules to work on my Thinkpad (A30p, model=20
2653-64G, having TPM chip).
I'm using kernel 2.6.11 (SRPM of Fedora Core 3), with latest tpmdd patch=20
The modules load, but TPM chip does not seem to get initialized correctly.
Thus I enabled debug flag, now kernel log shows:
tpm_atmel 0000:00:1f.0: Operating with base: 0xffff(ID string:=FF=FF=FF=FF)
(I added this printing of ID string myself, it is those bytes that should=20
I also tried NSC module, but it also reads 0xff values only (from whatever=
register it tries).=20
It looks to me, as if PCI device does not really get initialized, thus all=
these reads fail (0xff can't be the real value in all cases I guess).
I remember having tried "old" tpm module from IBM site quite a while (1-2=20
years ago) and it seem to work basically that time..
