Paul Brenneman has a discussion about this problem (and a potential fix) on his
website. His fix addresses the problem, but probably needs some tweaking before
it becomes an "official" fix.

A complete "fix" will be pretty involved, only a couple people have mentioned
this, and there is a reasonable workaround posted on Paul Breneman's website.

Defer for now.

Btw, Paul's fix is not appropriate for the mainstream codebase. We need to go a
few steps further.
