We have a lot of tables in this software. We should use YUI's datatable instead of having complicated PHP code that generates a table. I already have python code that converts a 2d matrix into a YUI table. Shouldn't be hard to implement in php.

I don't think these tables are complicated (but I work on a product with thousands of tables, many with multiple hundreds of columns).

I do think that we should have only one schema, and only worry about an upgrade script if you want to release schema changes from about a week before the competition and during. Once it is over, we don't need upgrade capabilities - last year's data is basically dead, IMHO.

I do think the current table schema is poorly designed, as well.

However, if we switch away from a db backend, I'll probably fork this project again.

hahaha, I meant HTML tables, not database tables.

Darned overloading! That, and I had no coffee in me yet.

    *sigh*
