How does the Google Browser Work?

From the Touch Graph Link Browser source, the example given takes an xml file and interactively builds from this file only (or constantly updated from this file). Google search results are all links from a website, not just a static xml file. how does this google setup work? Or, how does one download the google browser version of TouchGraph? Thanks.
