[Touchd-devel] D-Bus.RequestName Error

Shawn,

I am having trouble getting touchd to start...

output:

d4v3y0rk@41r:~/touchd-alpha2/src$ ./touchd
** (process:6029): DEBUG: Running touchd version alpha 2.
** (process:6029): DEBUG: Connecting to the Session D-Bus.
** (process:6029): DEBUG: Registering the well-known name
(org.tannewt.touchd).

** ERROR **: D-Bus.RequestName RPC failed: Connection ":1.43" is not allowed
to own the service "org.tannewt.touchd" due to security policies in the
configuration file.
aborting...
Aborted

Any ideas as to why?

I am trying to write a step by step guide on how to get this running on
ubuntu 8.04.

Yeah, you need to add a file allowing touchd access to the system bus.  
This is done by copying the touchd.conf file in the tarball (I think) to 
/etc/dbus-1/system.d/ .  Thats excellent you are writing a how-to.  Let 
me know if you have any issues.
