It's pretty new -- about a month old I'd say.  I would still think that 
openusb would find it though, as it's searching the right vendor string.  The 
call that's dying seems to be the one trying to get a list of the devices 
with that vendor ID, not when it actually goes through that list and tries to 
find the touchpad.

I'm happy to help debug however I can, so let me know what I can do.
