This a great camera and coupled with debian linux it just makes me smile. Anything new going on ? or any testing needed let me know . Also am I supposed to configure anything? Does it automatically set the higest baud rate on the serial port?
Also what about USB? can it be used?

Well, the project is stalled now, and maybe for good.
The available code is good enough to get you going in order to download pics with a serial link. It's not production-level, but should do for most of us.
However, the need for more work may be slight. I have stopped using this since I started using the USB port. This camera works as a USB mass storage device: just mount it, and copy the files down to your hard drive. No need for a specific driver.
If anyone is still interested in seeing new changes, please mail me a feature request or bug report.

I have just officially joined the project team.
I inted to actively develop ToshibaPDR until it reaches completion.
If anyone is willing to help/contribute, please let me know.
