A few days ago I dl'd and successfully used torbox on my linux system (via virtualbox). I dl'd the workstation and gateway, started them up (gateway first) and was able to get on the web no problem. Then suddenly I couldn't and still cannot today. I just dl'd and imported the latest virtualbox ova files and start the gateway. It is cnnected to the net no problem. I start the workstation and start torbrowser and immediately fail with a proxy not accepting connections message. I changed nothing and it originally worked but no more. How do I get this working again?

A bit of furthr investigation: the terminal in the workstation doesn't work for me. The window opens but there is no text visible and typing produces o visible text. Had to log out and login to text to check internet. IP address is 192.168.0.2 and trying to ping the gateway at 192.168.0.1 fails. Unreachable. The gateway is working fine and has access to internet. The workstation is not communicating with the gateway. Am running both in separate instances in VirtualBox. What next? How do I get the workstation to communicate with the gateway?

The terminal bug is a known issues noted in the readme. Link: https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/doc/TorBOX/Readme Its black color on black background. You can fix it manually by changing the colors in the options of the console.

Maybe the proxy settings inside Tor Browser got messed up for some reason. Please click on Tor Button (green onion in Tor Browser) and check if proxy settings are socks host IP 192.168.0.1 port 9100 socks5.

Can you test if applications such as xchat or wget are functional?

Btw, thanks for testing the ALPHA version.

None of the apps in workstation work (no internet connection at all). Will check the proxy settings again.

The gateway no longer works for me now either. If I try to ping 8.8.8.8 I get nothing but:

From 10.0.2.15 icmp_seq=1 Destination Port Unreachable

No net connection from the gateway.

ping does not work at all. This is because aos-Gateway and aos-Workstation can only access network over Tor and Tor does not support UDP. Therefore it's blocked in the firewall script.

    What you can try is
    nslookup check.torproject.org
    and
    wget https://check.torproject.org
    which should work.

Can you try to power off and to restart the Gateway and see if the error persists?

I deleted entirely both gateway and workstation, tried reimporting appliances in Virtual Box. Fail. I deleted the appliances and then removed virtual box from system, reinstalled virtual box, downloaded gateway and workstation ova files again, imported them. Now they work for a while. If my computer sits for time and screen goes dark, no longer work and have to restart. I took snapshot of gateway when it was working and saved that. Now that is what I start and it works if computer doesn't sit idle too long.

May I ask, what your host operating system is?

Can you reproduce, each time you hibernate and wake up the computer again, the aos-Gateway will be defunct?

I couldn't reproduce it with Ubuntu as host.
