I haven't ditched the mamou support in these patches, that can be done when everything else (hdbdos?) builds with lwasm as well.
This is just a preliminary which helps to prove that the binaries are identical after switching to lwasm.
I don't know if the "*" symbol interpretation in mamou is broken or just different, but it is probably not going to be fixed or changed.
These changes to the Makefile make it possible to use lwasm instead of mamou.
This patch changes the running code and is not needed for lwasm support. I am adding it here to the series because it likely depends on the other changes.
I am not familiar with all environments (e.g. Nitros) and disk image formats, so review by someone who does would be nice.
