No

I updated the WNR3500L to Beta11 and updated the ftdi_sio.ko aswell from the extras.
Symtom was that it couldn't talk to the Cardreader and tries to reset it over and over again.

Did you verify (with lsmod) that the module is loaded? What messages - if any - are you getting in the system log?
Also, did it work for you in beta10?

I verified that it was loaded but I have misplaced the log file I took.
    It was something like this
"drivers/usb/serial/ftdi_sio.c: ftdi_tiocmget Could not get modem status of device"
"/ftdi_sio.c: update_mctrl Error from MODEM_CTRL urb: DTR LOW, RTS LOW"

I jumped from Beta7 to beta 11 and are using the ftdi_sio from Beta7 with success.
Beta7 worked quite nice but I upgraded cause there was better support in Beta11

I could reinstall the nonworking ftdi_sio and get you a loggfile if you like. To make it easier to track down.

Ok, so the old version of ftdi_sio from beta07 still works for your device with beta11, and the only problem is when you're trying to use new ftdi_sio.ko?

What device do you use it with? And yes - if you can get me a log from non-working version that may help. Thank you.

The only thing to do is to reverse to Beta7 of ftdi_sio.ko and I can start newcs again.

Me and 1 other has encountered this problem.
It looks like it does a reinit of some kind and after that it says something about the wrong CAID or something.
Dont have any log info regarding this at this moment. But will look for it and post it asap.

    Thanks for a great work!

Please retest with beta 14 when you get a chance - it might be fixed. Please note that in beta 14 ftdi_sio is built-in into the firmware, there's no need to use separate module.

    I will do so asap.

Where can I find the release notes for Beta14?

    Roger W - 2010-06-02

a user at a forum a frequently visit has tried Beta14:

I've tested a bit fast and indeed it seems that most of what you need now to be built in the Tomato firmware.

One need only instance typing "insmod usbserial" and "insmod ftdi_sio" as installed in Phoenix reader / dev/ttyUSB0

The problem is that there is so much integrated that there is no room left in the / jffs - the ability to add and newcs.openwrt.mips newcs.xml but none of the other files will fit.

The other files I mention are libcrypto.so.0.9.8 such as we have "cheated" so that it works.

Nowadays there are built-in libcrypto Tomato (/ usr / lib / libcrypto.so) but because newcs looks specifically for libcrypto.so.0.9.8 just so you get the error message:

    --- Quote ---
/ Newcs: Can not load library 'libcrypto.so.0.9.8'
    --- End quote ---
.. When you try to start.

Quite irritable because it should work just fine with the version contained in Tomato.

One can safely restart newcs with files on a usbmemory, but then you have to connect a USB hub to have the reader plugged in simultaneously.

If anyone knows how to free space on the router - or newcs starts with any command that reads "right" libcrypto - you are welcome to enlighten me.

    Roger W - 2010-06-09

Thought only update that I continue to do tests.

I've been running Tomato on NewCS 1.67 beta 14 (beta 15 is released, but there seems to be so much change) through Atomized tips above.

I made a symlink to libcrypto.so.0.9.8 linked to / usr / lib / libcrypto.so in the local lib folder under jffs and started with. / Start (the same "cheat-off" we have done before) - which joined the started.

But it seems to be a problem with usbserial and / or ftdi_sio, because you can not read the card while it is mounted.

    Teddy - 2010-06-10

I didn't understand your last 2 comments. You're mixing subjects, talking about libcrypto, jffs etc...

This issue is for ftdi_sio driver. If there's still a problem with it in the latest betas, please explain exactly what the problem is in plain English. Please note that I don't have the Phoenix cardreader, and not familiar with this hardware - you need to provide as many details as you can without dragging in any unnecessary stuff.

    Sorry for mixing things up.
