It may happen that in the middle of the translation you realize that a specific document is missing from your translation, let’s say a regulation in its last version. How to get it into the memory in 5 clicks?
(1) Find your document on http://www.eurlex.eu and open it in this view (basic view).
(2) Right click on the “html file” in preferred 1st language and choose “Save link as”.
The Eurlex actually offers a very reasonable type of name:
Do the same for 2nd language.
(3) Open TMX editor, choose “Align files” Find the 1st .html file, click open, then the 2nd file.
Wait 10 seconds. Aligned results should show in the main window of the TMX editor.
Don’t forget to fill in custom metadata.
And “save” or “save as” to a location, where you can find it.
(4) In Studio, click “Project setting”, “Translation memory and automated translation”, click on the memory in which you want to import the tmx and click “import”.
(5) Follow the wizard in Studio.
So how many clicks was it? 15? Yes, the Studio requires too many clicks…
