Help page

BASIC OVERVIEW:
(1) Header bar
(2) Segments
(3) Scroll bar
(4) Embodied metadata
(5) Custom metadata
(6) Function buttons

Both sides will become red to indicate the selected segments.

After clicking “Merge” the segments will be merged correctly; the right ones together and the left ones together. This procedure is very useful in a case of an empty segment on one of the sides.

If you click twice in the same segment, you place the cursor inside that segment. The segment can be edited or split starting from the cursor.
(7) Align files
a) align single files: click align, click on the 1st file, click on the 2nd file (chose not to align multiple files if it asks) and wait. Sometimes, especially for the new language combination, even 1 minute! The result is showed directly in the Tmx editor.
Should the alignment get interrupted, or the program crashes, it is suggested to kill any running lf_aliner.exe or sentence splitter.exe in the task manager - processes before any new attempt.
b) batch align: you need to have the files in 2 separate folders (by language). Click on any file in the 1st folder and then on any file in the 2nd folder. The editor recognizes the language and pairs the files automatically. It suggests some doubled files, if that is the case.
In the filenames, the editor recognizes this structure:
2.XCCCCCPPCCCCEX
example new_62010CJ0002_FR.html
example 62010CJ0002_FR.html
(P – a letter of alphabet, upper or lower case; C - number; E – not number; X - any character or any number of characters, or nothing at all).
In the example above (FRA-FOC-EN-FRRET-F-0032-2011-123456789-XYZ.doc) it is at first recognized the part F-0032-2011 and only after, if there is more than one pair of files having in name “F-0032-2011”, the editor compares also the part "123456789" of the filename. As a result, it can even automatically recognize and align EN-F-0032-2011-000000000 with FR-F-0032-2011-555555555 (if there is only one pair having "F-0032-2011" in the filename). On the other hand, it will correctly align EN-F-0032-2011-123456789 with FR-F-0032-2011-123456789 and FR-F-0032-2011-987654321 with FR-F-0032-2011-987654321 in the same folder.
In the same folder as aligned files, you should find “Log Info.txt”. In this report the results of the alignment are provided.
Configure the LF align setup.txt
Default lf align setup comes with a configuration which you might think to change and set different values as showed on this picture:
