Is there a possibility in the near future where war deployment can be done using this plugin. I think this should be in this plugin since the tomcat manager has also the possibility to do this.

  The support for WAR de/un-deploy is planned for the plugin. The main focus right now is on the state managment of deployed apps. After that those features will be added.
