Initial Comment:
I have been unable to open .ltm files with tmnav.
Error and log messages are:

    Corrupt [path+basename].ltm:
    "Cannot activate TopicMapReference, because its in
    state StoreState (corrupted)"

One of the topic maps i have tried to open was the example
from an Ontopia user manual, "Jill's first topic map":
