Did you already work with the JDK1.4 logging stuff ? Is comparable to Log4J ? I really like Log4J, also because of the large number of add-ons (EMail-logger, JDBC-logger, etc.). As far as I know nobody reported problems with JDK 1.4 and ozone, but I didn't try it for myself. The only problem a had with JDK 1.4 was the built-in XML support which conflicts sometimes with other XML-parsers such as Xerces.
