OriginalBugID: 2356 Bug
Version: 8.1
SubmitDate: '1999-07-16'
LastModified: '1999-08-20'
Severity: CRIT
Status: Released
Submitter: techsupp
ChangedBy: foster
OS: Solaris
Machine: Other
FixedDate: '1999-08-20'

Name:
J. Goss

CVS:
RCS: @(#) $Id: README,v 1.16 1999/04/24 01:50:47 stanton Exp $

ReproducibleScript:
I issued 'make' and followed all recommendations concerning PATH
variables and
directory layout. Issuing 'make' produces (at the end of make's
output):

Text relocation remains referenced
against symbol offset in file
__ctype 0x1cc tkGet.o
__ctype 0x2a04 tkCanvPs.o
__ctype 0x1e8 tkGet.o
ld: fatal: relocations remain against allocatable but non-writable
sections
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `libtk8.1.so'

DesiredBehavior:
How can get it to build?

Solution provided in:
http://x46.deja.com/getdoc.xp?AN=499923360
-- 08/20/1999 hobbs

namely: Just hand edit the Makefile to remove the "-z text" ...
