I did not encounter any bad behaviour because I have no time to test, but I found strange to read
"nonewline"
instead of what I think should be:
"-nonewline"
in tkcon.tcl line 3757 of this version:
http://tkcon.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/tkcon/tkcon/tkcon.tcl?revision=1.113&view=markup#l3757

    That is the correct check for the old form of puts.
