It seems that "less-378-s1.tar.gz" might have a problem.

I tried to install and use it going by the instructions in the
book Tivo Hacks. (This has bugs, but I got the errata and
entered the right info.)

Since I could not get it to work, I looked at the archive
with StuffIt. (It's supposed to be registered to me, but it
thinks its not registered, in case this matters.) According
to StuffIt, there are several files with no file names or 0
size. Here are the details:

0 size, no name files:
/var/hack
/var/hack/bin

less 109272 /var/hack/bin
lessecho 23204 /var/hack/bin
lesskey 27972 /var/hack/bin

0 size, no name file
/var/hack/lib

libtermcap.so.2.0.8 30412 /var/hack/lib

0 size, have file names:
libtermcap.so /var/hack/lib
libtermcap.so.2 /var/hack/lib

The error I get is:

bash-2.02# less /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit
less: error in loading shared libraries
libtermcap.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such
file or directory

note that this is one of the files that says it is 0 bytes.

thanks,

Brenda
