Hello Francesco, Stefano, ALL ;-) I think you've done a great job to port iaxclient sources so that ppl can build native MS static lib!! I was thinking myself to do this, but after fe= w trials I gave up... way too difficult. My compliments!! Although BaseClasses, iaxclient_lib, and portaudio projects were built successfully, I had a problem to build test application UdpSendRecv :-( Namelly, linker generates all the problems: ------ Build started: Project: UdpSendRecv, Configuration: Debug Win32 ------ Linking... Hopefully we have not made fundamental changes to iaxclient library structure. We have only added some missing features, so if you need some detailed informations about iaxclient library you can find many docs on Internet about it. You can start from iaxclient site on sourceforge. The choices we have done to add video support are not yet documented and I think it will take some time to do it. It will be done (I would prefer) during official CVS syncing... If you need to know something about some part of the code that we have changed, please tell me what and I will try to explain it as best as possible. -- Cheers, Stefano |

First of all we have used a CVS version about 6 months old. We are not synced with the "official" CVS, but we are working on it. Apart the video patches we have added DTMF receiving and transmitting capabilities, some bug fixes and reading audio (and video) from file or a blocking device. I've added AMR (nb and wb) optional support via ffmpeg library or "native". The ffmpeg library support is optional and dynamically linked. We have added in Makefile some rule to use "ctypes" export utility to use iaxclient library under Python. There are some other things that we've added and that I'm forgetting... -- Cheers, Stefano Falsetto GNU Rot[t]Log maintainer http://www.gnu.org/software/rottlog |

Stetano, Thank you very much for your link! I got a lot of information from it. I think it would be better if there is a detailed document which describes the whole project architecture/design, not only the changes you made, and I will appreciate if you can provide that document. Is there iaxclient_function for that or I > have to fight with other lib? > > I take a first read of testcall, but is a little hard. The video frames are transferred to the client program via an event callbac= k. In this explanation I will follow code in testcall, so please take the=20 function prototype from it. 1. you must define a function that will handle each frame. In testcall I'm= =20 using "display_video". In this I'm using SDL, but you can use whetever you= =20 wants 'cause the iaxclient library will give you a buffer containing the=20 frame data encoded in YUV420, so they are completely independent from the=20 actual drawing method. Please see the struct iaxc_ev_video definition in=20 iaxclient.h code. 2. you must associate this function to the IAXC_EVENT_VIDEO event. This=20 association must be done in your Iaxclient_callbacks function. To use the video features in a call you must to correctly initialize the vi= deo=20 part in your Iaxclient_initialice, so you must follow this steps in given=20 order: 1. Call to: iaxc_video_format_set(preferred, allowed, framerate, bitrate, width,=20 height, fragsize) Please read the docs in video.c code to better understand the use of=20 parameters 2. Call to: iaxc_video_mode_set(IAXC_VIDEO_MODE_PREVIEW_RAW) 3. Call to: iaxc_initialize(Vmode|Amode,MAX_CALLS) Please read the docs in iaxclient_lib.c code to better understand the us= e=20 of parameters 4. Only if needed call to:=20 iaxc_set_video_files(Vinfile,Voutfile) (Remember: you can use blocking devices like pipe and socket too.) Now you're ready to use the full A/V iaxclient stack calling =20 iaxc_set_event_callback and then using the standard iaxc_call and=20 iaxc_select_call. Hope this helps! ;-) =2D-=20 Cheers, Stefano Falsetto GNU Rot[t]Log maintainer http://www.gnu.org/software/rottlog |

What option should use at running > udpsendrecv.exe that I can call at local network with two PC? > If you read the C code you can see that the -F option requires 5 parameters= : 1. the codec's *code* defined in iaxcllient.h 2. fps 3. width 4. height 5. maximum frame size (actually only used using ffmpeg codecs) In continuing to reading the files, and the iaxclient-devel ML you can see that you can't use "mixed" devices, i.e. if you sink the video to a file yo= u can't at the same time use the webcam to source video data. This is a TODO. So to make a working demo on a single PC that is using a single webcam and = a single audio board you must correctly use the -F and the -f, -v , -a, -i options. Please read the code. To make a call you must press the 'd' (like dial...) key when the focus is on the black window that appear when the program starts correctly. Again: read the code. Please note that if you run two instances of iaxclient library on the same PC the 4568 port is occuped by the first and the second use the subsequent port, if available. So when you call from an instance to another please specify the port. i.e.: <host address>:<port> -- Cheers, Stefano |

Please do not use the UdpSendRecv and UdpSendRecvDll projects, but make a new project using testcall_13092005.c and the iaxclient library. The srtp and "friends" dependencies in UdpSendRecvDll project are only required by the project for "historical reasons" but never used in the sample codes. -- Cheers, Stefano |

The problem here is that the project involving stdafx.h is very broken. ... But are you using the IAXClientByTipic/iaxclient_lib.sln project file, right? I think the better and faster solution to make an example program using our library is to use the UdpSendRecv/testcall_13092005.c file in a new project or new solution and try to compile it. (2)I get the errores while I build it at cygwin > //--------------------- error in cygwin > video_grab.h:19: error: conflicting types for 'iaxc_set_holding_frame' > iaxclient.h:374: error: previous declaration of 'iaxc_set_holding_frame' [...] We have never compiled our library in cygwin, but these errors are very strange: the two prototypes are identical. Anyway at the moment it's not ou= r priority to make this library compile under cygwin. We hope we will spend out time as soon as possible, but not now. P.S. I'm cc-ing in ML 'cause I think this is an interesting thread. -- Cheers, Stefano |

Please can you cut-and-paste the build errors you are experiencing? I also want to know where have a work sample for windows. If you have a > sample.Would you please Send me a package benevolently. The vtestcall code can work under Windows too. Anyway we are working on a multiplatform sample code, but it's still in early development stage... -- Cheers, Stefano |
