Hi Allan, Jamal, others
One of my colleagues here at Ericsson made me aware of
a possible issue regarding the new TIPC API. He claims
that "all" protocol APIs present addresses in network byte
order to its users, i.e. the port ids we read from the socket,
as well as the port names/name sequences we use for
binding and for sending messages should always contain
integer fields in network byte order, instead of in host byte order
as we do now.
Consequently, I think even subscriptions and events should
contain fields in that order, and our trick for finding the correct
representation of a subscription would become unnecessary.
Personally, I am not excited by this idea, and I don't think Posix
specifies how it should be done, but I still want to make you
aware of the issue.
If there ever is time to change this, it would be now.
