Not sure what you mean by "pushing TIPC a bit". If it means dropping TIPC messages, then "Retransmission failure" is expected.

If you did not intentionally drop TIPC messages, then issue could be due to packet drop at NIC (in your VM node or host or Switch/Router etc.). You need to do the tunning at NIC.
