A phone meeting of the TIPC working group was held on March 24, 2011.

Attendees:

Al Stephens (Wind River) - meeting chair; Jon Maloy (Ericsson); Peter Butler (Performance Technologies)

Minutes:

1. Meeting opening

The meeting was called to order at 11:04 (ET).

2. TIPC 1.7.7 development update

A patch to resolve a long-standing issue with TIPC's broadcast was released, but unfortunately broke an earlier TIPC 1.7.7 fix. A supplementary patch to correct this problem has been created and has passed initial testing; it should be released to the TIPC 1.7 git repository shortly.

A patch to ensure congested links receive bearer status updates was also released.

3. TIPC 2.0 development update

Approximately 26 patches were integrated into the Linux mainstream during the last month. Another 20 patches are currently in the development pipeline awaiting review, and will hopefully be integrated in the coming month; more patches are currently being developed and may also make it during the coming month.

4. Future plans

It will be at least several more months before all outstanding patches from TIPC 1.7 are integrated into TIPC 2.0; Al is currently focusing on getting bug fixes integrated, after which he will turn to the TIPC 1.7 enhancements that still remain to be integrated (such as using TIPC's broadcast link to distribute name table updates). Once all of this work has been done the Working Group can then start discussing what areas of TIPC need additional development.

5. Next meeting

The next meeting will be held on Thursday, April 28th at 11 AM (ET).  *** This is now the new regular time for working group meetings. ***
