I am integrating TinyXml into my current project, but I see that unicode is not supported. The last post regarding unicode is 2 years old now, and that talks about adding the support in the next release??? Are there any plans to release a new, unicode compliant version in the near future (ie before my project is complete) or will I have to add the support myself?

TinyXML *does* support Unicode, in the UTF-8 encoding. UTF-16 files are so uncommon that it isn't workth supporting in a tiny library.
If you have UTF-16, conversion is easy. Wikipedia seems to have some links (although I haven't checked it out deeply).
