#2 Patches to get it working on savage

ptc_buffer doesn't seem to be needed for some targets,
and gets used incorrectly so the code ends up copying
from the allocated buffer rather than the buffer passed
in..these changes got xlib, and xshm and xdbe targets
working on savage with recent x.org cvs & slackware 9.1
