I see you've made a couple of fiarly recent commits, but I wonder where this project is headed. I have need of payroll software and was sitting down to start writing it... there aren't many viable options out there for small businesses... And I was even going to write in java for a variety of reasons.

It looks like you're still mostly tracking time and not really working on the payroll aspect directly. What are your plans? What is your target jurisdiction for payroll (US?), at least initially?

What I'm looking for: basic payroll functionality for the US designed for manually entering hours, tips etc (I track timesheets in a separate app on another system entirely), with export to qif or ofx and maybe some pretty printing. Thoughts?

      Andrew:

Thanks for the interest in the app.  For a number of reasons (a move this month is my current excuse :) ), development on the app is stalled, but I do plan on picking it back up in the near future.

It was intended to be a small business style application for a family member of mine who runs a vet clinic.  At first it will be a time tracking application, but I will make a payroll app out of it eventually.  I hadn't thought of QIF/OFX exporting, but it sounds like a good place to go with it, once I'm through with the initial interface.

I was actually contemplating getting rid of the Swing interface and replacing it with a J2EE web front-end.  That would make accessing it from multiple computers (another nicety requested by the client) easier.

If you have ideas, I'm certainly hoping to make this useful to people other than myself and my client, and I am hoping to make the application live up to its name eventually.

      Thanks again,
      Kevin
