Installation on QEMU/KVM with Virtual Machine Manager
This is my preference when it comes to virtualization, not a requirement and everyone has their own preference. For this demonstration I will be using virtual machine manager.
- First open your QEMU/KVM virtual machine manager and select "create new virtual machine" - it is the upper most left icon that resembles a computer screen with a play button inside.
- You will be prompted by the "new vm" UI similar or identical to the image below.
- You would want to choose the first default option of "Local install media (ISO image or CDROM).
- Verifying that is selected click the right arrow/forward button to continue.

- Now you will be asked whether you wish to "Use CDROM or DVD" or "Use ISO image".
- The second option of using an ISO image is selected by default snd the option that you want to use.
- Under the selection you will see and input field to either enter the path or use the "browse" button to locate the path to your .iso file.
- Enter or browse to the path so it shows in this input field.
- Once you have entered your .iso file path click the right arrow/forward button to continue.

- Next you will be prompted to select the amount of memory (RAM) for your virtual machine and the amount of CPUs to allocate.
- By default virtual machine manager predefines 1024Mb of memory and 1 CPU which is plenty for TinyPaw-Linux.
- However - depending on size of any wordlist you may add for aircrack or tshark additional memory and CPU allocation may be necessary.
- For standard install and use the defualt options are more then enough.
- When you have adjusted or kept these options the same you may click the right arrow/forward button to continue.

- Onto storage allocation, by default virtual machine manager predefines 20.00Gb of storage for your virtual machine.
- This is far more then enough, currently TinyPaw-Linux requires roughly .5Gb of starage space.
- Recommended virtual machine size is 5Gb or more - this is entirely dependent on your wordlist choice (some exceeding 10Gb in plain text).
- For this demonstration 10.00Gb was used for the storage capacity of this virtual machine.
- Once you have decided on your storage size click the right arrow/forward button.

- Finally, you will be prompted with the review/overview of your pending virtual machine.
- Other then the desired name of your VM - by default is "generic" so whatever naming convention you wish, it is standard to use: distro/build.
- Unless you have used virtual machine manager or familar with the other pre-setup options nothing else needs to be changed in this UI.
- When you have named your VM click the "finish" button to complete the creation of your TinyPaw-Linux VM.

- Once virtual machine manager has completed the creation of your VM it will directly boot afterwards.
- It will boot as any other LIVE media, select "boot TinyPaw with installer" from the boot menu.
- All Installation will be the same as the previous page for CD/DVD or USB installation.
- Lastly in regards to configuring your virtual machine properly is the topic of your external USB WiFi card(s).
- Very simple with virtual machine manager, while your VM is booting or booted navigate to the top menu bar of your VM window (if your moush is confined to your VM environment simply press left CTRL + left ALT to unlock your mouse cursor).
- Select the menu tab "Virtual Machine" and at the bottom of the menu list select "Redirect USB device".
- Any host USB devices can be redirected to your VM in this manner, however ideal for external WiFi and you can only toggle two devices at a time to redirect.

The above is to demonstate, I do not currently have external USB WiFi devices connected for redirection
