Can you update?

TinyPaw-Linux is built from Tiny Core Linux and still provides access to their repositories via the "AppsBrowser" package management tool. However, this feature was included to provide access to additional applications for the end user that would be compatible with a Tiny Core based distribution, that being said many core system files and libraries have been recompiled, updated, modified and/or otherwise changed from the versions available within the Tiny Core Linux repositories. Updating any system, core files and/or libraries from non TinyPaw-Linux repositories is not advised and may render your build unstable - DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A FULL UNDERSTANDING OF THE PACKAGES AND DEPENDENCIES YOU ARE ALTERING. Due to this core updates and patches are typically rolled with each new build release, leaving only tool, script and package updates in between builds. All updates for TinyPaw-Linux should be retained from either our SourceForge or BitBucket repostiories and any additional applications such and multimedia, web, office, etc. can be found within the Tiny Core Linux repositories.

Installed?

Yes, you only need worry about updating, saving or changing anything in your release build if you are running it in anything other then LIVE mode, otherwise your system will just revert to it's inital .iso image upon shutdown. This section only applies to you if you have or plan to install your TinyPaw-Linux release onto some type of physical storage media, whether your PC, USB, VM or CD/DVD.

Applying updates or installing new packages is a fairly painless process, assuming you've been following and using TinyPaw-Linux thus far then it should be no more difficult then adding a few lines to a plain text file.

A simple video overview of this process is available on the TinyPaw-Linux YouTube channel: HERE
