I think it should be easier to turn it into a GCC front end than
to port to another machine.  So why bother porting it at all?
You may as well go straight to the destination, instead of taking
a detour.

However, the idea of making this a GCC front end raises an issue.
Would you like to assign the copyright on this code to the FSF?
That is what we normally ask for, for front ends for GCC.
