I'm currently trying to resolve the problems.

I do have a fix which works in an xterm or rxvt, but does not work 
properly when using a UN*X standard console.
No tests have been perfomed on Win32 using PDcurses.

Also there is a bug with the color set code, resulting in the screen 
background color to be set to what ever the first field background color is.

If you like to the test the code I have, I could update SF CVS.
