I'm unable to duplicate this problem on my system.

Have you checked what version of 'htcobol' you are using ?

$htcobol -V
TinyCOBOL - pre alpha 0.62.0 (linux-gnu 2005/05/20)
(C) 1991, 1993, 1999-2003 Rildo Pragana et. al.

Maybe you have more that one version installed.

Anyway, if the problem persists let me know.
It could be a bug of some sort.
