Asus Tinklerboard first thoughts and comparisons

The Tinkerboard I have is the last one in the shop which comes with a 1 year local warranty from the distributor. Performance wise I found it surprisingly good, a notch slower than the Odroid XU 4 (which IMO is the only viable desktop replacement SBC), but managing to process lots of tabs without grinding to a halt. Stability wise it leaves something to be desired but hopefully it will improve with future versions from Asus and the community (yes, I am looking at you ArchLinux ARM). Overall the Tinkerboard could've been (and may still become) a Raspberry/Odroid killer if priced and marketed properly (i.e. at below $50 and available online directly from Asus) and much more OS support.
