It is sad that we (TimeWarp developers) left TimeWarp in quite broken state before completely abandoning it. To fix this I have created new version of TW-Light (0.5). Fixed a lot of crashes (melee, ships, menu, install problems with non ASCII windows user name) Added almost all TimeWarp ships You can enjoy: 1) Melee with multiple ships at the same time 2) Defender game where you have to protect starbase as long as you can 3) GOB game where you fly on huge map, slay enemies, upgrade your ship. Windows installer: https://sourceforge.net/projects/timewarp/files/TW-Light/tw-light-setup-0.5.exe/download Sources: https://github.com/Yurand/tw-light Running game on Linux is possible but It is still not 64bit clean so you will see funny graphics |

It was long enough since last release, so I decide it is time for new version. Please download it from: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/timewarp/tw-light-0.1b2.exe?download Whats is new? Unfortunatly I have only little spare time this summer so not much 1) GUI is updated. "Agup" library is used to enhance gui GREATLY, plese try different theme to see what fits for TW better. For this edit file "client.ini" variable GuiTheme in Video section 2) For linux version, configuration files now stored in $(HOME)/.tw-light directory, so tw-light one step closer to real linux program now 3) Another refactoring to source code was done. (still a lot of work need to be done here) 4) Something that I don't remember Best regards, Yura Semashko |

Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=13354&package_id=115202&release_id=240035 TW-Light is lightweighted version of Star Control: TimeWarp. Currently it includes only a combat portion with the best TW ships but without network support. TW-Light does not include ships from SC1, SC2, SC3. TW-Light based on 2 month old code with patches from latest version. The goal of this release is provide stable version with sane download size (5mb). Anyhow it is much more stable then current full release. Currently TW-Light includes the following ships: * Alary Battlecruiser * Bipole Katamaran * The Chorali Extractor * Confed Cargotran * Confederation Hornet * Djinni Lancer * Drax Griffon * Earthling Crusader MK2 * Earthling Crusader MK3 * Zekfahan Shocker * Garash Tyrant * Hydrovar * Ilwrath Spider * Kahr Boomerang * Re-Koj Assassin * Rogue Squadron * Tau Archon * Tau Dagger * Tau Slider * Tau Torrent * Zekfahan Shocker |
