I managed to get it onto the Kubuntu system this time, but now it still has an error when it extracts it 100%. Is there a chance you guys could release the same thing but compressed in a different format like .zip or something?

.img is not real file format as written at https://mirror1.timebreach.org/trac/wiki/LiveDevUsbKey
This file is a raw copy of usb key.
So cannot be "opened" you need to write content on 2GB usb key to be able to use it.
As written in the tutorial:
dd if=LiveDevUsbKey.img of=/dev/sdX where /dev/sdX is your usb key drive.
