That makes some sense, unfortunately there is no quick way around that at
the moment because the main program loads the data from the database and
then the main window (called controlPanel) expects the data to be there.

Two approaches that I can think of
1) A a proper main window and then the controlPanel is loaded when the
connection is made
2) Adjust the code so the controlPanel can load without the need for the
data being loaded into the app.

I prefer the first approach, but what do you think?
