What I mean by that is, my last car ( 2008 Vectra c 150 ) I always serviced it myself every 6 month regardless of mileage , which was next to nothing to be honest as car was not used much. For all filter and oil it cost me around £60 even for genuine parts so even doing twice a year still cost far far less than taking it to a garage. I've now got a 2015 insignia. I've just recently serviced it again myself ( oil , pollen , fuel , air filter and obviously oil change ) cost a little more at £80 for all genuine parts but still saved a good chunk of money doing it myself. My question is this, is it advised to take your car to a dealer or at least an independent garage . I always have a good look under and around the car whilst servicing it looking for any issues etc. I know I'm saving money in doing it myself but will a garage be doing things I'm not and maybe should ? https://alzaabiautocare.com/blogs/why-an-experienced-mechanic-is-vital-for-your-car/

Absolutely, there are perks to getting your car serviced at a dealer/garage! Their specialized knowledge and access to genuine parts or door repair can ensure top-notch maintenance and potentially preserve your vehicle's resale value
