Is there a reason not to restore the database from a backup? I would think that restoring only the dumps or a similar incomplete = extract of the whole wiki would be severely limited in its usefulness. There's = a lot of information in the database that would be lost - all the = user/permission settings, history and whatnot. I may be spoiled by our backup rotation, but I think that to = create/maintain backups externally isn't a functionality a wiki needs to have.
