Hi, I just listened to the May 22 roundtable discussion recording and heard that the info.tiki.org site revamp was touched on again. Apart from the issues concerning the server and relationship to the community site, has anyone taken some steps (plans, drafts, or whatever) on revising the content and appearance? (By appearance, I don't mean the theme necessarily, but rather than amount of text vs. white space, use of images, layout of information, and so on, to clean up the look, etc.) Key things that I recall from the recording are Jonny's idea of basically a one-page presentation "pretty pictures and Tiki in five minutes" and luci's comment that the site/page should display fast. IMO the revamp can/should start already, using an inside page of info.t.o. These details need to be worked out in advance behind the scenes so when the front page changes, everyone is ok with it. We can turn hide the side columns on the draft page using CSS if necessary or whatever is needed to replicate the setup for the front page. If anyone needs edit access at info.t.o, I can take care of that. -- Gary |
