#1463 _COOKIE['PHPSESSID'] not set at login

After porting my tikiwiki to another ISP I could not
login. I got an errormessage telling me that I should
enable cookies for my browser.
Aparently $_COOKIE['PHPSESSID'] was not set.

I added session_start() to the top of tiki-index.php
and now everything seems to work fine.

I appended phpinfo() output below.

    Hum, I'm far from being an expert in session stuff, but it's
    rather strange that you're the only one reporting
    this...with only one host. What browsers did you test that
    with? There's a session_start() in tiki-setup_base.php which
    is included in tiki-index.php.

    There are other reports of this on tikiwiki.org. I will look
    them up, but right now the website is very slow.

    I tested this from unix with mozilla and galeon and from
    windows with mozilla and internet explorer.

    All these browsers can successfully log into my other
    tikiwiki that is hosted by another ISP. So this clearly has
    something to do with the servers setting.

    Another report apparently rightly ponits that PHPSESSID is
    encoded at some places in the code, explaining similar
    problems, however you are using PHPSESSIS so it wouldn't
    explain your problem. I don't know.

    I did not realize, that I have 1.8.1 installed. Sorry.
    I am going to upgrade soon and test this again.
